The panadaptor uses a double-tuned input stage with peaks at 432kc and 
478kc  to compensate for the rolloff of the radio's RF front end 
bandwidth.  The input transformer of the panadaptor can be aligned to 
match your receiver, on the band you use most.  This alignment will be a 
compromise on other bands, because of the varying front end bandwidth of 
your receiver from band to band.
