The HQ-100 was a last gasp effort and best forgotten, sales were low and
they sometimes bring big price on fleabay by the fanatics.
Yeah, I have one with speaker, $35 at a local sale about 4 years ago which
included a BC-312 that was converted to SS. But I can tell its a Hammie, it
even drifts on the BCB (-;

Subject: [Hammarlund] Excellent manuals, and Panel link
Hello All,
Thanks a bunch for all the preselector suggestions!
I got a manual from Glendale Manuals for the HQ-145, and was very pleased
with the job of reproducing the original. Printed photos (half-tones) are
particularly hard to scan, and Artur does a really nice job.
The copy looks like an original, complete with fold out 11 x 17 schematic.
The free version that I downloaded didn't turn out nearly as well. In
addition the binding is the plastic comb variety so that the manual lies
flat on the bench. The price is $10.99, post paid.
Artur is just getting started in the business, so I asked what other manuals
he was going to offer:
"Thank you for your comment on quality, it's a learning curve for me, trial
and error, mostly errors. Half tones need to be descreened in photoshop
otherwise they print out with moire effect."
"Absolutely you can mention me on mailing list. At the moment I've got
HK-1B, HQ-100, HQ-110, HQ110A, Hq-120-X, HQ-129-X, HQ-140-X, HQ145, HQ145A,
HQ-170 HQ-180, HQ-200 (SP-200?), SP-600 Issue 4, SP-600 Issue6."
"I'll be adding more Hammarlund manuals in near future, I've got 4 milk
crates full of assorted manuals to be scanned. Full list of manuals will be
available on my website soon (when wife finishes typing it up)."
His website is under construction:

but you can email him at:

Another link that might be of interest for those who want to re-do a front
panel. This is an illustrated how-to on removing and replacing the
decorative "bezel" that surrounds the front panel on the later HQ's:
http://www.hammarlund.info/HQbezel.htm
With the bezel in place it's not possible to re silk screen the art work.
I've got an idea for a cheap way to re-do the panel, and I'll post the
details if it works.
Thanks again to all you helpful guys for all the good info!
Cheers,
Brian
