I might have said similar as there were enough differences. The one I didnt 
like was using a 6BE6 as a converter instead of a seperate oscillator tube 
as in the NC-183 and all HRO's. Thre are also several differences between 
production runs, the biggest being a 6J5 phase inverter at first and later 
half a 6SN7.
Note also that although they are much older and readily available they 
usually command much more than a HQ-180. The escalation of HRO-60 prices 
surely helped... a nicely done one by a friend recently went for $1500 on 
fleabay.

Some of the owners qualify for that role....
Oh, another thing...I guess the WW2 xtal oscillator kit for the SP-200, and 
later the X versions of the 400 and 600 had nothing to do with drift, just 
some bureaucrat wanting something to do (-;
