Follow your link and look under comments. "Single conversion below 10 MHz" .
I was under the impression that most of the Hammarlunds of that era were
double conversion above 7 megs (40 Meters and up). I had an HQ-110C which I
thought was that way.  The 110 wasn't super hot  but it really came to life
coupled to a Preselector. The Q multiplier worked well also. 
If you're at all interested in that receiver, I would buy it !

I wondered about that. One of the Hammerlund info sites lists it as double
conversion. Here is the link:
