Hello-
Thought I would ask for some advice. I bought a nice looking HQ-170 and the
seller packed it very poorly, shipped it on its side with no case screws in the
rear. When I unboxed it it had loosend the case screw in top-front, and the
radio had slid out of the case several inches. The leverage of heavy chassis and
tall front panel caused this damage at front left area: The countersunk screw,
between noise limiter and ant trimmer knobs, that holds front panel to chassis
was nearly pulled through its hole. It distorted the metal around hole,
mainly it is "pouched" out on rear side of countersunk hole.
I am going to attempt to repair it by using a press with some type of
material (plastic, etc) to protect the front side of front panel. Possibly
someone on list has a nice front panel for sale, in case my repair fails.
Thanks, Byron.
