    I got it out of the cabinet and its very clean. I think 
perhaps two or three of the original caps were replaced and 
the filter cap looks like a replacement. On thing I need is 
the collar that holds the S meter in place. One of the tabs 
has been broken off and its not the sort of thing that can 
be repaired. So, I wonder if anyone has a suitable collar. 
It would appear that the meter is the same size round case 
as used on other Hammarlund receivers so perhaps the collars 
are not too rare.
    I have gotten a couple of responces off the list, I 
suspect Hammarlund enthusiasts are pretty enthusiastic:-) I 
have myself two SP-600-JX's and a BC-779 although that was 
built by Howard Radio Co. The HQ-129 and its relatives are 
IMO among the real classics of receiver design.
