[Hammarlund] HQ-215 QUESTIONS

Hi Peter,
I don't know of any mods for the HQ-215 but if you learn of any, please
share. I've owned an HQ-215 since 1971. It's a great receiver. It is
stable, sensitive, accurate and with the Collins filters it's
selectivity is super. I suspect that there aren't very many still in
service. I don't think many were sold. I wouldn't trade mine for a good
Collins receiver. Not that I don't want a Collins receiver. I just
wouldn't want to give up the Hammarlund.
As for hum, I've only heard it when I used low impedance stereo
headphones. It's possible that C603 (1,000 uf) is bad. It's certainly
old enough. You getting hum on a speaker? Does it matter where the
volume control is set?
