I found that I not only needed to clean the two brass wheels, but also the edge of the logging dial which is driven by the brass wheel. I found Acetone was very effective, and a thorough cleaning restored proper tuning.

Subject: [Hammarlund] Slipping tuning on SP-600

Having been fine for a long time, the tuning on my SP-600-17 has

begun to slip quite a lot, making it far from a band-cruiser. I have

forgotten the acknowledged best means to get round this problem, and

so would like to hear the groups advice before I do anything rash.

Best regards,

Clemens S.Ostergaard
