[Hammarlund] HQ-170 factory "drift kit"

Hi Carl, et al,
    I don't remember ever seeing (or hearing of, b4 this) a factory kit. 
I've made the change to several HQ-170's to make them an "A", and probably 
with an HQ-180.  All that's done is (as has been said) to put in a small 
6.3v fil. xfmr (ahead of the line switch) & rewire the filaments on the HF 
osc. & mixer to stay on all the time.  Plus convert to SS rectifiers.  The 
factory didn't even change the pwr xfmr part no., at least at first.  Hardly 
a $17 parts cost.  I've even done it with an xfmr that would only handle the 
osc. filaments, and that's almost as good.
    One problem some folks might casue is using a power strip to turn the 
rcvr on/off.  That defeats the always on filaments and makes it drifty 
again.
