Hi Stan and everyone,
Thanks for your thoughts. (I won't change the subject, tho' you're
referring to The Hammarlund Historian website.)
The website used to be hosted by Al Waller on one of his many (?)
servers, and the domain name, hammarlund.info, was owned by him. When his
server crashed, and he decided to take it to the recycle center rather than
rescuing any info on it, he offered me the domain name if I could arrange
hosting.
The domain name now is owned by me, with Les Locklear, the real
Historian, as 'beneficiary', and I am having the site hosted here in NC. Al
Waller is no longer involved, and the requests for monetary help at the end
of every qth/qsl.net post do not apply to our hammarlund.info websiste.
We are grateful for the msgs of recognition of worth of the website, and
offers of files and help, that we have received recently. We hope to have
it back up soon, perhaps even better than before.
At this point nothing more than incidental costs have been involved and
I/we ARE NOT soliciting any donations.
thanks again to all, and 73,
Al, W8UT

I think that AL is asking for us to fund it because we use it and we all
probably need to send a little seed money to him.
