[Hammarlund] SP-600

at some point, the RF deck uses a 3.5MHz sh IF.  I believe that this is controlled 
by the switch at the bottom/back of the RF deck
 a) check that this switch is working properly
 b) check the 3.5 IF section - if memory serves me right, there is a 3.5 MHz crystal
    buried in the shielded can  which is in the bottom of the unit
