[Hammarlund] begging again

If this is a service-grade instrument, the original caps
were probably ordinary 10% papers that were selected for
exact 5x and 100x ratio. Maybe you can hook up with
someone with a more accurate instrument and select some
new caps for yours.

Lacking that, you can get 2% .02 and .1, and 10% 2.0,
at www.mouser.com, for about a buck each. Polyester not
Polypropylene, so you won't get quite as good a Dissipation
Factor, but unless the originals were truly special, even
these will be a step up in that respect.

Another possibility is the TekScopes group on Yahoo.
Many scopes had superb precision-matched decade caps
in the timebase.

Subject: [Hammarlund] begging again

Hi guys;

Yes, it is me again, "the beggar" I recently begged for a 9-pin connector
and got a great response. I got exactly what I needed. Now, I am working
on a Capacitor Analyzer. It appears that someone replaced all the
capacitors in it with run-of-the-mill bypass/coupling types, including
the 1% standard capacitors. It is out of calibration. I cannot find any
that I can afford. Ebay shows some in Moscow, Russia that would run over
$100. More than the analyzer is worth. So, again, I am turning to the
great group that inhabits these reflectors. Again, I will pay any
reasonable price for any of the following 3 capacitors:

0.02 mfd 1%, 0.1 mfd 1%, 2.0 mfd 1%.

I imagine any voltage over 50 volts would be OK. Mica would be preferred
but I will be happy to take what ever I can get. Thanks, again.
