This is not the first radio that's suffered a similar fate.

I have here an HQ-145 and an HQ-150 that were similarly defiled.   
quite a long time ago, I had a chance to buy these two and a BC-348  
that had been "solid-stated" by some unidentified earlier owner. They  
guy, I was told, had at long last become married, and his bride made  
him get rid of all his radios.  Good thing, I think, if it kept him  
from doing more of the same.

I have been unable to even put power to these radios.  I recently got  
them out of storage and they are now "unearthed" after being buried  
for a long time. I may in the near future offer what's left of them  
here on the list. Likely someone can salvage what's left in them to  
good use.  Kinda like being an organ donor with that little heart on   
your drivers license.  The situation may be sad, but we do what we can.
