Al's the man. The SP-200/400 cabinet is 15 inches deep, while the
SP-600 cabinet is 17. Though the SP-600 doesn't go completely to the
back edge, it won't fit into an earlier cabinet according to this
measurement (couldn't get inside the cabinet to measure mine due to
storage issues).
But even if it did fit, the bigger issue is access to the antenna
connector on the SP-600. Its cabinet has an access hole roughly the
size of a quarter midway up the back panel designed to allow the
feedline to reach the connector inside on the top left (rear-facing)
of the tuning condenser housing. The 200 series had screw terminals
directly on the back. So you'd either have to solder the connector on
after passing it through one of the square holes in back, run with the
lid open, or blast a hole into it. The fact that it won't fit saves
making such a decision.

NEAR-Fest last May, no small feat!) :D
