[Hammarlund] Which is better, SP-600 or HQ-180?

It seems the text got stripped from my reply to the thread so to try 
again...

The SP-600 for band cruising with its great tuning feel, also the first 
choice for CW and it sounds wonderful on AM when QRM isn't too bad.  The 
HQ-180 does a better job on AM when interference is bad and is the 
better choice for SSB with its product detector. 

To mix and match, my favorite "hybrid" is my TMC GPR-90 combined with 
the Hammarlund HC-10 sideband converter because this combo is a great 
band cruiser and I can choose the right amount of selectivity and the 
proper detection to suit the situation.
