[Hammarlund] Seeking assistance with SP-600 in MD( Baltimore) area

Hello All , I'm a new list member and a SP-600 owner since march 2008 .I purchased 
this as a working . It developed a power supply problem this October. I heard a 
fairly loud POP! Followed by no audio heard from the receiver. The OA2 is cold. No 
smoke or funny smells . I would like someone experienced to take a look at the 
receiver if possible. I lack test equipment ,knowledge and patience.  I Don't want 
to ship the radio if I can get away with it because of bad experiences. Alot of 
radio gurus have told me to completly re-cap, which I agree with but,first I'd like 
to get it working again. If no one is close to my QTH ,I'd be happy to hear any 
advise as I sure many are busy due to the holidays. Many Thanks
