"I was wondering what the price for resale would be on the following.
R390A, EAC (Hammarlund). Looks good, runs good, has meters, no modes,
original manuals, no cabinet. An 8 on the 10 scale. Real clean inside and
out.

---------------
It depends upon quite a few things, the largest variable is how badly
someone wants a set.
The later model Electronic Assistance Corp (EAC/ Hammarlund) are generally
known for a higher degree of workmanship. Some of this may be due to the
later manufacturing dates around 1967. This is the variant that I personally
own and I am quite pleased with it's performance.
To give a general range of prices I would put it from $500 to $1500. At the
lower price end the radio may need a good recalibration, cleaning and
faceplate painting. At the upper end of the price range I would have
expected it to have already paid a visit to Chuck Rippel or someone who
really understands the cablibration and suggested mods of the radio. This
would include a complete dissection and cleaning of the geartrain, setting
the PTO endpoints and linearity, going through each 1 MHz band and tuning
each stage, and pulling and replacing every flaky capacitor including the
corrosive little beast on the bottom of the audio deck.
