Well Ed if you put it out on the curb advise I will drive up and get it.

Actually what you see is normal for that era. Can't remember but I have
the 180AC now and it has a dial adjustment knob to change the pointer
to the nearest 100 KC alignment point. Not sure about the plain jane
180 but believe you have that on your unit.
Not sure what you mean one whole division but that's not much for this
rig to adjust for. It's not a ham receiver but a really good general coverage
device.

  Subject: [Hammarlund] HQ180 Alignment

  Hi,

I am trying to align an HQ180 and am having difficulty getting the radio to track across any band. I can get it to track at both low and high points but tracking is off almost one whole division in the middle. In fact it gets progressively worse as you move along each 100KHz point on the main dial until you get to the middle. As you continue to the other end it gradually comes back in. In any of this I do not move the band spread dial from the 100 set mark. It's so bad that it is difficult to set any of the ham bands because it is a guess where to set the main dial.

Any of you geniuses out there have any suggestions other than to put it out on the curb?

  Thanks and 73,

  Ed, KØBKA
