[Hammarlund] manual for JX-6 SP-600

The NAVSHIPS manual is a copy of Issue-6 of the standard Hammarlund SP-600
manuals. Curiously enough, it doesn't really quite cover the JX-6. For
instance, the JX-6 has the 6-wire RF deck, but Figure 15 (page 37) of
Issue-6 (the NAVSHIPS 91661 manual) shows the 7-wire RF deck. You get a
little surprise when you go to overhaul the RF deck.

There is no Hammarlund manual that accurately describes the early models of
the JX-6. The closest you can get is the Army manual TM 11-851. Figure 100
shows the early-issue R-274B. The later issue R-274B is shown in Figure 102.
If yours is a later model, then the second set of schematics in Issue-4
accurately describe the unit as well. You can tell the difference between
the early and the late models by looking at terminal strip E13 (right by the
chokes and main power filter capacitor). If it is a rectangular block with
posts, it is a later model. If it is a linear terminal strip, then it is an
earlier model.

Ain't this fun?

Is there a specialized manual for this radio: SP-600 JX-6, R274B/FRR like
the Navships manual 91661 that is shown on the Hammarlund Historian site or
will any SP-600 manual do? If I need this Navships manual 91661, does anyone
have one for sale? thanks,
