Hi Bob and the group -

This topic is always guaranteed to get the guys out of the woodwork.
Everyone has their favorite method. I like white latex ceiling paint. This
is easy to get off where you don't want it and it leaves a nice smooth
appearance within the letters.

Al - I really wanted to like the acrylic paint but found I had trouble
getting the haze off the panel. You have to put a fairly thin layer of gray
paint down initially - too much and the letters lose definition - and so I
don't like to abrade very much after lettering.

David - The paint stix - For me they leave it too grainy inside the
lettering. I can easily tell a panel that has been done this way and well, I
just have to re-do it!

So no matter what way one choses there is a little bit of "art" to it. I
have had to start over a bunch of times even when I think I have my method
down pretty well. It can be trying! Also at least on the SP-600s some
panels are engraved deeper than others.
