Greetings to Al and the list:

Hi Al!

I see that you wrote to the list and to Phil:

" Hi Phil,
I don't know just who you adressed this to, or when you saw mention of
HQ-129 mods, but if it's Ken, N5CM, that you're talking too, I can help you.
Ken sent me info on such mods about 2 yrs ago, or more, and I made a .pdf
file and have a little more in a Word .doc file. I can email both to you,
and if you can't handle the Word one, I can put it in text. It has some of
the other info in it, plus some addl from Ken.

I have an HQ-129 also.... I am somewhat of a fan of keeping the radio
stock, but as I plan to replace the tuning knobs and have already fitted an
xtal calibrator, perhaps I'm in too deep to back out now.... ;^)

At any rate, I would also greatly appreciate a copy of the above
mentioned files on
HQ-129-X's that you have, if it's not too much trouble.

By the way, I installed the calibrator in such a way that it can be
switched in and out from the front panel, without altering the appearance of
the receiver in any way. This is probably old news to you, but if not and
you or anyone else would like to know how I did it, please let me know and I
will post it.

Thanks in advance and 73,
Jim T.
