Definitely a repaint Carl, you can even see the lighter gray through
the splotchy topcoat.
Hammarlund did have some discrepancies in the panels themselves, the
script of the name comes to mind. The also had some models with the
name and model screened in a red-orange color, the rest in white.
Ron's replacement panels are all white, and the name script is
accurate, although different than my model. Still, it's a huge
improvement.
But every one I've seen unless it was repainted or shoved into an old
HQ-120 black cabinet were the same gray wrinkle as the 150 etc.
The other thing often missing is the original tuning knobs. They were
somewhat small and not as handy to use as the average fluted
dakaware-type knob. The chickenheads are even different, a much
cooler, high-speed look to them.
