I did that too; forgot to say so.  I centered the
phasing cap and setscrewed the knob at the mid mark,
then peaked L37 as I described.  Hmm, I think I faced
the rotor such that 10 would find it fully meshed
with both stators.  Coulda put it the other way
but that felt wrong to me.
