[Hammarlund] FM 500 B

   I have a Hamarlund model FM 500B unit, and am not certain just what it is. I assume is is an amplifier used for fm. Probably not designed for amateur use.

   I would appreciate anyone telling me just what it was designed for. The only thing I could find using search engines is a color photo of one that has a meter round meter installed on the front. 
Evidently not original, as the one I have does not have this meter.
