Are the BC-779s a great radio, or what?

I redid one several months ago. I spent weeks on it. Every paper cap and
out-of-spec resistor went. I even opened the cans to replace the paper caps in
there and removed the RF deck. I followed the military alignment instructions to
a T. At the end, I was rewarded with what I consider one of the finest band
cruisers ever made.

The audio is wonderful. Sensitivity is superb. The variable selectivity is a
godsend.

As you might guess, if I see one at a hamfest this summer, it's going to follow
me home, for sure.
