There is a good fix -if you have a fiberglass 1/4 in rod available.
use that to make a new shaft. Use carbide tool in your lathe to cut down
the shaft.
the original is quite often broken when picking up the rcvr holding the
front panel
against your chest-belly- and the knob catches on your belt!
