0) determine voltage requirements and dimensions

1) Investigate eBay for transformers.
2) Look for Hammond transformers - main web site to find the number you 
need, AES to see if they have it, or other distributors mentioned recently 
on mailing lists.

3) probably the best choice: contact the fellow who rewinds transformers 
and get a quote from him:
