The meters on my Hammarlunds are as follow:

HQ 120......Yellow/Orange (beautiful rcvr)
HQ 129X.....Yellow/Orange (both of my two)
HQ 140XA....White
HQ 150......Yellow/Orange (beautiful restored job)
HQ 160......Yellow/Orange
HQ 170......White (two white)
HQ 170......Yellow/Orange
HQ 180XE....White
SP600 JX16..White

It is interesting that the clocks on the HQ 170s
remained white (whiter than yellow) on all three, but
one meter is Yellow/Orange and two are white.

Another interesting observation is that ALL of the
yellow/orange meters are exactly the same shade from
the HQ 120 to the HQ 160. Seems that there would be
different shades of yellow/orange over the period of
50 to 60 years of existence if some environmental
condition caused the yellowing.

My two RME 45 meters are same shade of yellow/orange.

My Collins 75A1 has Yellow/Orange meter.
My Collins 75A2 has white meter.
My Collins 51S1 has yellow/Orange meter.

My National NC 125 meter is yellow/Orange.

Most of the meters on my transmitters that are known
to have been originally white are still more white
than any other color and they are 50 plus years old.

I think the yellow/orange meters are very attractive,
especially when the unit is black or gray. 73, John,
K5PGW
