[Hammarlund] SP-210SX power supply

Hi Bob,
Is the power supply a Hammarlund original supply? I can't find any
reference to speaker field coil connections on them for that series of
receivers. Field coil type speakers weren't normally used with them.
When mfgrs did use them, they connected the field coil into the power
supply as if it was a filter choke, so the current flowing thru it would
provide filtering action plus the magnetic field for the speaker, thus
getting 2 functions for the price of 1. If your supply was built for that
type of setup, and a remote field coil was not used, then you would short
the terminals. Hopefully there's another filter choke in the p.s you
have. The Hammarlund supplies used 2 rather husky filter chokes in
series.
If you need a schematic or manual, let me know. I just emailed a
manual file, TM11-866, to someone last week. We don't have it on The
Hammarlund Historian website at the moment.
