I, too, had great faith in the inherent superiority of JAN tubes, which 
is why I asked if anyone else had run into problems with them. 

In fairness, as I pointed out, all the troublesome tubes in my 
experience seem to have been ones from late (1979 and later) production 
runs. It seems to me I read recently that there were some quality 
control problems in late tubes. Anyway, I like their pretty green and 
blue markings.
