The HQ-180 has a two position switch, for AM and SSB/CW.  The HQ-180A has a
3 position switch where the SSB position selects a fixed internally-tuned
BFO setting so that you can leave the variable "pitch" control on the front
panel set for your favorite CW sidetone and not worry about having to reset
it to the center posistion for SSB.  In the SSB position, the variable BFO
tuning on the front panel is not functional on the 180A.

All HQ-180's have a 500 Hz selectivity position for CW.
