I want to thank all for the encouragement on my new boatanchor (SP-600). I
can see it is worth the effort of restoration. I know of Mr. Parker (Al),
done some tranny rewinding for him. Rite now, transformer rewinding is at
its height in the shop and I am just finishing up an SX-28A recap/reresistor
job. That makes the third one in the last two months. These were for a
friend of mine. I did a visual inspection of the underside of the SP-600 and
found a 10K resistor that is completely cooked and burnt in half. Also, this
is a low serial number rig and has the "black beauties". Will keep all
posted as to progress. Now its time to fill the coffee cup and head to the
shop. Hallicrafters HT-32 Series, power trannys are paying the mortgage this
month, hehehehehe.
