Take a break today and join us for the Saturday HCI 40 meter Net. That grass you
have to mow will still be there later today, it won't uproot itself and leaf!
Those weeds won't weep like a Willow with allergies and will wait to be flogged
with your weed whip, the fertilizer won't spread itself in the wrong places and
the hedges can wait a few more hours for a haircut, after all they have already
waited three years and look like gigantic green hairballs with skinny legs!

The pre-Net is at 12:30 PM EDT, (1630 UTC). The propagation is drop kicking
itself back to the D layer at the 315 miles south of Flint, MI marker, or in
Cincinnati, Ohio. I plan to try to have some old drag racing buddies who now
live near Cincinnati, Ohio 'borrow' the city limit signs and replant them
several hundred miles north in an effort to trick the propagation waves to skip
into Ohio instead of right over it!

The Net proper will start at 1:00 PM EDT, (1700 UTC). You will know it is the
right time, because that is when one of the regular guys who checks in tries to
down an entire two liter bottle of diet Pepsi just before the HCI 40 meter Net
begins, forgets he has the VOX on and sets off motion detectors for a block in
all directions around his QTH with a burp so loud you look behind you to see if
Tug Boat Annie is coming down your street!

The frequency will be 7.280 MHZ lsb +/- for key clicks, mike splatter and
unexplained "Welcome To Cincinnati" signs in your front yard!

Here is hoping that the "Zone Of Dead" does not have a radius of 300 miles as it
has for six weeks! I am tired of talking to guys running Shine in the hills of
southern Kentucky, some Whispering Pines in southeastern Tennessee that have
more secrets to share than all the tabloids combined and some guy named Buffet
Bill who always show sup on his remote relay from some blasted buffet and talks
for ten minutes while stuffing his mouth! Wh is this refrigerator with legs and
an open door policy?
