How hot should the power transformer get on these? The normal line voltage here is right about 120 VAC and the transformer gets hot enough where it's a bit uncomfortable to touch at first although it does not burn to the touch. I held an old alcohol thermometer against the side of it and it seemed to stop at about 120 degrees but it may be a little hotter than that. would a little fan be advised for it, a Variac perhaps or is this normal? I'd hate to have to find another transformer for this radio.
Incidentally I'd like to thank the people here who advised me to recap the radio, I sent it off to Frontier Capacitor and they redid the cap and it runs much cooler now than it did before. They do a nice job and are quick on the turn around time.
