[Hammarlund] Hq-129X alignment

Hello All, 

I am in the process of recapping a HQ-129X,
after I am done, I would like to do a complete alignment.

Are there any alternate methods to align the HQ-129X 
other than using a swept FM signal generator for a source?
Somewhat of an odd alignment routine isn't it????

I could either breadboard a FM sig gen or use one at work
but I admit I am somewhat lazy.
