Hi Ron,

Regarding your exaggerated bass response, start with checking the 
resistors associated with the audio output circuitry, including the tone 
and volume controls. In recent rebuilds, the frequency of badly 
out-of-tolerance resistors within a unit has ranged anywhere from 20 to 
75-percent with the majority of culprits being higher value (100K and 
up) and higher wattage (1 and 2 Watt) specimens. I've begun to replace 
old carbon comp resistors almost as routinely as paper caps. I don't 
even measure the ones that exhibit a mottled, dried out looking body -- 
they're almost always bad.
