[Hammarlund] Join Sunday HCI Net For A Surprise!

Please warm up those wonders that still go glow in the dark and join us on
Sunday February 6th for the Hallicrafters Collectors International Net.
Admission is free, but bandwidth is limited, so come early and play late!   	
	
The pre-Net portion commences at 12:45 PM EST, (1745 UTC). However, I am usually
on the air trying to coax, bribe or otherwise persuade the electrons to shinny
up the feedline to the Hustler 6BTV and hurl themselves into the sky toward the
waiting Ionosphere and then skip down to Florida to see if my relay station
operator is awake or still curled up under a Coconut Palm. If he is still
seranading the neighborhood with his snore, it is the duty of those highly
energized electrons to bore through the stem holding the Coconut in defiance of
gravity, and let it drop on the NASCAR cap worn by my siesta stealing relay guy
and wake him from his dreams of doing a wheelie and burning rubber the full
length of his street and beating the local dog catcher to the doughnut shop on
his John Deere yard tractor to which he added a little Nitrous Oxide! It does
not cut grass worth a darn, but it sure is fun!    	
	
The Net proper will begin at 1:15 PM EST, (1815 UTC). The frequency will be
14.293 MHZ usb +/- for key clicks, mike splatter and my super water sucking sump
pump roaring under the Ham shack floor like there was a den of Lions down there!
Maybe I should not have replaced that submerged electric motor with the old
Chevy small block 265 cubic inch V/8 my son-in-law dragged home from the auto
dealership he is the head mechanic at. Seemed like a good idea at the time to
pump that water out faster so the blasted thing would run less and not give me
the background effect of transmitting from aboard a Blackhawk chopper going into
combat with all guns blazing! It worked great and solved the problem, but I
never even thought it would shoot that water it pumped over 150 feet through the
air and rip the asphalt based roof shingles off my neighbor's house! Well at
least he gets his house pwoer washed for free several times a year!	
	
I hope to hear you tomorrow, so show up and let's give those Aliens listening in
the next star system something to ponder in 4.3 light years when our signals
obliterate their cellular traffic and they think that there really is a 'War Of
The Worlds'!
