I agree with Roy (now THERE"S an endorsement, eh? :-)). I recapped,
refurbished and calibrated  my own AN/URM-25D about six months ago and
it represented a surprising amount of work. True, it's no SP-600 or
SX-42 in terms of recapping tedium, but it's tricky enough in places.
What the auction seller is asking for his rebuilt units is quite
reasonable, I think.  I saw one of his 25Ds about a year ago, and the
workmanship is nice.  And, for boatanchore servicing, the URM-25 is
ideal.  I use mine with my old Heathkit freq counter but, to tell the
truth, the analong readout on a well calibrated URM-25 is close enough
-- literally -- for government work.
