Hello Brian,

You may list items for sale that belong to you or you are selling for a friend,
provided ownership is clearly stated and the descriptions of the items is
truthful to the best of your knowledge. If you do not know if the item works,
then state it is 'untested' or 'operating condition is not known'.

State an asking price instead of "make me an offer". The latter being more or
less a private bid and you will take the highest offer you get.

The items you are advertising here and will be selling are your 'personal' Ham
or radio gear and not those of a commercial or private business. No commercial
ads are allowed! However, if you are retired or disabled and have a hobby
related business that you make or provide items for fellow radio hobbyists, such
as used parts, reprinted manuals, NOS vacuum tubes and other components,
refinish front panels or paint cabinets, produce a particular part for a radio
such as a knob or repro coils or gears for mechanical tuning assemblies, provide
a service like rebuilt transformers or reconed speakers ... this is permissible.
Remember a "hobby" type business or service, not your primary vocation!

You may not advertise an item here that is being sold on any electronic auction
or post links to it.

You may not post ads for a commercial business that you have 'any' financial
interest or affiliation with or get a commission from. You may post the name and
contact information for a company that provides a product, part or service that
a list subscriber has asked for assistance with. Such as where to get a power or
audio transformer rewound, where to buy capacitors, vacuum tubes, have a front
panel refinished, where to purchase an original manual, where to buy paint to
refinish a particular brand or model of radio gear, where to purchase a desired
book and so forth.

If you are assisting with the sale of an estate it may so be stated here,
provided it is radio and/or radio hobby related! You may not conduct
transactions on this list, however, that is done off list.

While some make it a 'regular' habit of going to Ham Fests and buying up
merchandise for the sole purpose of reselling it at a profit, the posting of
this gear is frowned upon here, as it is obvious exploitation of 'free'
advertising. These lists operate on donations from subscribers, it is not a 'for
profit business' and therefore is not controlled by business motives, here it is
the Ham and radio hobbyist who is King! However, a Ham or hobbyist who purchases
items from a Ham Fest now and then and wishes to sell an item his fellow
hobbyists may be interested in is permissible.

Because some replies go to the list instead of the individuals directly
involved, such as when one party uses "reply to all" instead of "reply to
sender", be careful! Send your business offers or proposals to the person
directly, type their e-mail address and not use the hot buttons. This keeps your
dealings private and avoids some embarrasing situations!

When in doubt if it is acceptable to post a certain item, or how to post it,
contact the list admin of that list. This can usually be found in the footer
area of all list posts.

These lists are hosted by K3TKJ, Alan Waller and you may make a donation by
contacting him at: k3tkj at qsl.net

Hello Gents:

Is it "legal" for me to list personal items for sale on the list as long as I
include a price and not solicit bids? Thanks. Brian K9VKY
