Thanks to everyone for the information on the
T6 assembly. I think I have enough information now
to get it back together correctly.

Subject: [Hammarlund] SP-600-JX T6 assembly.

Hello All,

I have been working for the last week or so bringing
back to life a somewhat sick SP-600-JX. I have been
making very good progress up to this point.

The receiver is now working quite well on AM but I have ran into somewhat
of a snag. The BFO is quite dead. Up to this point I had not opened
up the T6 can since there are no Black Beauties in there. Well,
I removed the T6 cover and the first thing I noticed was that the
form for L45 (beat oscillator variable coil) was just dangling there.
The front portion was still connected to the shaft that runs to the
front panel but the other side has pulled away from its retainer.
It also looks like the two wires connecting the coil to the rest of
the circuit have broken. I don't have a problem fitting the coil form
back into its retainer but I am somewhat confused how the windings
should be set up. I've looked in the manuals I have and I have not found a
picture of this assembly.

I am a novice to SP-600 circuitry and I have never seen one of these
assemblies in functional condition. I was wondering if one of the SP-600
Guru's on the list might be able to talk me through getting this
straightened
out.

Thanks and 73,

Paul W4QG
