   hey guys
kind of new here so hang in there with me
IM working on a HQ180AC here that i just got and its got some bugs
that i want gone! so i can enjoy it

No epay stuff ... but was told it was mint but it wasn't! The guy
disappeared

but some other time on that story!

ive re-tubed it with good tubes and IM rounding up new caps so i can
replace
the few old ones that can act up.
the problem it has is on SSB audio is crappie drift is awful its
like
nothing ive ever had. like a voltage problem in the VFO
lots of what i call voltage ripple ... no microphonics that i can hear

they sound like everybody has major RF on the trans signals
the drifting is so fast that you cant keep up with it using the vernier
tuning
and its not just going up or down it goes back n fort
it doesn't go real far i guess 10 or 15 kcs a bad wabble up n down

ive had the 100a a 110 and a 170 and they moved a little but nothing
like
this. the drift is on AM too but very hard to tell
and on AM BC i can rec tune to 7415 and have a good 30 over SIG and
in the back ground i can hear 7345 just about as good. and it does this
on other spots in the BC band

i have swapped the V12 tube 6C4 2 or 3 times with no change

the rec itself is very quiet no AC hums, good sensitivity

all controls work good, ive even cleaned the tube sockets with

   tuner cleaner

before i do a alinement / calibration i want to make sure everthing is
ready

   Ele / mech wise !

     any ideas welcome

  thanks
