There is no way to tell the exact JX-number, since sometimes different
numbers indicated just different contracts.

But you can go a long ways. There are basically 5 different configurations -
everything else is a relatively minor modification. We can probably
eliminate it being a JX-17, since you would have mentioned the cool, red
knobs. That leaves 4 configurations.

There are a couple things to check: first is E13 - is it a normal terminal
strip or is it a square block with two rows of pins? If it has the square
block, are all the wires soldered down, or is one of them screwed down? (if
one is screwed down, then it is the one with the direction-finder option).

Next, does it have two, large power resistors under the chassis near the
power entrance? These are R72 and R73.

Next, take the lid off T1. This is the little box on the right of the RF
deck. Are there 6 wires going into the RF deck or 7?

Next, on E17, is there anything wired to pin 1 and/or pin 3?

With the answers to these questions, I can probably get it down to which one
of the 4 basic configurations it is, and thus to the most probable types.

I should probably write down the key sometime - when I get a round tuit.
