    Re the comments about the HQ's 180, 160, and 145: I am listening (as I type) to the weekly AMI West Coast Net, and we have pretty good conditions tonight.
    My 145A sounds much better than my HQ 170A or 180A, though they do very nicely on SSB, it does show that more of the design at that point in history went into favoring those rigs on SSB. The AM audio this evening out of my 145A into a nice big speaker (actually a Hallicrafters R46-B tonite) is really super. Frequency is stable also. No, it's not an SX-28 or an NC-183D, but, it's really quite nice. And quite nice in appearance, I think. I have a 140 in the restoration cue, and look forward to hearing it also.
    Keep those filaments lit.
