I have a brief comment/question about the positive comments on the HQ-160.

The wide bandwidth spec for the HQ-160 is FOUR kcs.

For AM phone reception, this is a bit restrictive.

So, having to know for myself, I bought an HQ-160 earlier this year, and
sure enough, the 4-kc bandwidth was very obviously apparent.   I re-sold it
soon after.

The HQ-180 is, of course, limited a bit in audio fidelity by its design,
because the low I.F.s are too restrictive, but other than that, it's a great
receiver.

My favorite Hammarlund is my HQ-145.  The HQ-100 that I have here also has
equally impressive audio fidelity, and the HQ-110's possess the same
attributes.

Just my 2-cents-worth.
