A happy October morning to one and all.

I would like to personally thank each of those who have contributed to this
excellent source of electronic information since its inception nearly eight
years ago by founder Alan Waller, K3TKJ. I can only wonder how many thousands
have found answers here because of the tremendous collective knowledge generally
willingly shared by the list subscribers. The scope of this information is
nearly boundless, covering common items to extremely rare, or even an occasional
previously unknown one.

This list works and survives because of all the various personalities and
diversity of viewpoints, educational or professional backgrounds and myriad's of
experiences. It is totally unrealistic to even imagine that all of these many
hundreds of individuals with their own unique ways of communicating, dealing
with divergent issues or viewpoints and the unavoidable human element of
personality clashes, will always see things the same way. However, I believe
that we should all agree that it is OK to disagree without letting our personal
feelings influence our better judgment. Easier said than done, for certain. Just
the same, it should be the framework we all try to work within.

Now and then some feathers get ruffled and some waves ripple across the
placidity, but overall, all things considered, those times are but a microcosm
in the time space continuum. If fuel is not added, they soon flicker out and are
forgotten.

You, the contributors and benefactors, and owner Alan Waller, K3TKJ deserve all
the credit for this lists success. If you appreciate what he has provided for us
to utilize, then consider sending QTH.NET/QSL.NET a donation to keep the servers
serving. Al has gone to great lengths, and personal expense, to keep all of
these lists spam and 'commercial' free. We can all show our appreciation by
making a donation to insure that this tremendous and absolutely unequaled
dissemination of information continues into tomorrow.

There is no hard and fast rule as to how much you should contribute. Twenty
dollars is a nice number, but if you can only afford five dollars, that is
equally appreciated. The amount is not nearly as important as the participation
is. If every subscriber just sent one dollar per year, the future of
QTH.NET/QSL.NET would be worry free and secure. The reality is that 1.5% ever
contribute a cent. As many of you who regularily use the lists as an information
source, or place to sell your personal radio or Ham gear, how much is this worth
to you? Some say "The Internet is free, we can go elsewhere and get it for
free." yet, you remain here. These lists are as good as it gets when one
considers the scope of what is covered, nobody does as much and absolutely
nobody does it better!

Al regularily struggles with various large providers blocking QTH.NET/QSL.NET
out, the result of the spam invasion. i will not name those providers here, as I
am confident those of you who use them are well aware of who they are. Earlier
this year just prior to the Dayton Hamvention one of the primary servers that
feeds QTH.NET failed. it simply wore out. Remember, the equipment runs every
hour of every day of the year. Wearing out is a fact. When it happens, the
equipment must be replaced, rebuilt and reprogrammed. it costs money and it
takes time. This is Alan Waller's hobby, this is 'not' a business. He depends on
our donations to help keep it operating.

Do your part. Contribute whatever you can. All is appreciated! If you would like
to help, please use one of the methods below to do so.

I am just like all who help with these lists, a volunteer. I thank you for your
generosity on behalf of QTH.NET/QSL.NET
