All flavors and cents of vintage gear are always welcome - if it isn't vacuum,
fake a hum!

Please tune in on Saturday October 2nd for the Hallicrafters Collectors
International 40 meter Net. The pre-Net portion will commence at 12:30 PM EDT,
(1630 UTC). The Net proper will begin at 1:00 PM EDT, (1700 UTC). The frequency
will be 7.280 MHZ lsb +/- for key clicks, mike splatter and the sound of
pollutant saturated leaves falling on the Ham shack roof from the half dead
trees tormented by acid rain and sulfur dioxide vapors emanating from the
porta-john vent pipe parked in the Taco Bell parking lot where the annual
loudest belch from a bean burrito contest is in full swing. Remember how you go
to the carnival and have to throw a softball at those three milk bottles
standing in a pyramid formation? You are supposed to knock them over. Turns out
some are really made of Lead and not glass! If you knock all three over you win
a prize like a stuffed Teddy bear that smells like the Yellow River. Well this
one involves burping loud enough to blow a Mexican sombrero off the head of an
animated wooden puppet dancing to Pat Boone singing
"Speedy Gonzales"

I hope to hear many of you tomorrow above the head pounding din of those excited
contestants belching loud and long like a harbor tug boat horn test session!
Just wanted you to know it was not I trying to levitate myself from the NCS
chair by firing my retro rockets!
Oh yes, the prize? Last year it was a fifth of Mexican tequila with that little
worm swimming around inside wearing a wet suit and using a rebreather! Rumor has
it that this year it is special underwear with jumping beans sowen into them and
a pair of tickets to the James Brown concert at the nearby Clio Amphitheater so
you can really shake your body!

Hear you tomorrow!
