Hi again Gordon,
>Ditto what everyone said about antennas.
>If you are going to try to clean the outside, stay away from spray cleaners
>like 401. use very mild detergents or diluted Simple Green. Also, the
>plastic dials can be ruined with the wrong cleaning agents. I'd leave them
Please, please , PLEASE, try the Murphy's Oil Soap before you use ANYTHING
ELSE!!!!
It's the ONLY thing I've found that doesn't F**K up the coil bases
later on. You can spray it right on and in the
chassis and in WILL not eat anything except the smoke and the dirt. 409
WILL corrode the aluminum shielding
underneath and the IF can covers, attacks the coil bases and the caps
inside, and the simple green just takes longer
to do the same thing. It's the same chemical makeup just a different
strength. Stay away from the Scrubbing Bubbles as
it will etch the paint and make a mess of the dials. Murphy's in the spray
bottle is the only thing that I've found that doesn't
make more work later.
