[Hammarlund] Collins or Hammarlund?

Hi Mark...
I have an RCA AR-88LF here which I use in conjunction with a modified
Heathkit QF-1 Q-multiplier...
I absolutely LOVE it! It's as stable on 10-meters as it is on 160---no small
feat for a receiver built SIXTY years ago! It's stable, selective, and most
assuredly does NOT slide across the table whenever the 'phones are plugged
into the headphone jack...! :>)
Its one major drawback...? Frequency readout is FAR from
"...readable-to-one-KHz" accuracy...but it IS re-settable, using the logging
scale.
Considering its age, the rig was well ahead of its time, I think, and worth
the $450.00 RCA selling price in 1944...
