[Hammarlund] Need a few bits for HQ140X - hints

1. It actually sticks in the middle of the travel
2. Sheilding--I am sure a regular bit of sheet metal would do the trick, but if someone has a spare "Real" one, I'd be interested
3. Will try the wd-40 trick, but this looks like the plastic (or whatever its made of) is actually a different color. Even the back of the knob (That looks at the panel its whole life) where the sun don't shine is the same dark brown color.  Any one ever know if hammarlund produced two different color knob sets for these?
