That worked out good. I found an HXL-ONE and an HX-50 in excellent =
condition, so I'm pretty darn excited. I hope to have a full Hammarlund =
station consisting of HX-50A, HXL-ONE, HQ-180A, SP200, on the air in a =
few weeks! It will be interesting to find out if the HX-50 is a good or =
not so good performer. In 1970-1978 my HX-50A was a great performer and =
I used it all the time on SSB and cw. In the past few years I've heard =
quite a few discouraging comments about the HX-50 being 'problematic' =
and difficult. Hope not.
Now I need to think about building a bench with shelves to hold this big =
and heavy stuff :) I enjoy working vintage SSB, AM, and CW and so I =
plan to run the Hammarlund station on all those modes. I don't have a =
manual yet, so I'm wondering if the Hammarlund AM is true =
doublesidebanded AM or if its single sidebanded AM like the KWS-1 and =
Johnson Pacemaker.
